Saltwater National Park

Saltwater National Park Wallabi Point is a small coastal reserve located east of Taree.

It is surrounded by rainforest and is a popular camping spot for local Aboriginal people. The park's coastal location makes it a year-round destination for surfers, swimmers, fishers, and nature lovers.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy at Saltwater National Park Wallabi Point. Saltwater Beach is a popular surfing area and is also great for swimming and sunbathing. The adjacent Saltwater picnic area provides a place to relax. Wallabi Beach is another great spot for surfing. Visitors can also paddle a canoe, kayak, or fish among the mangroves along Khappinghat Creek.

For those who enjoy trekking, the Headland walking track offers stunning views of Wallabi Beach and the park. It is also a great spot for whale watching from August to November. Binoculars are recommended for a closer look at the humpback whales.

Wildlife viewing is another highlight of the park. Bottlenose dolphins can be seen surfing the waves all year round, and sea eagles are often spotted catching fish. Binoculars are recommended for a better view.

Saltwater National Park Wallabi Point can be visited year-round, with activities available in every season. Getting to the park is easy, as it is just east of Taree. It is approximately 3km south of Old Bar or 17km south of Taree off the Pacific Highway. The well-made ring road provides easy access for all vehicles.
