Description
Sharp Point is a lookout in Torndirrup National Park in Albany, Australia.
It is a lesser-known spot in the park, but well worth the drive along a 4km gravel road. The lookout is well-developed with parking, signs, a boardwalk, and trails.
One of the highlights of Sharp Point is the short loop trail that takes only 15 minutes to hike. The lookout offers a breathtaking view of the ocean, including the Green Islands, Eclipse Island, and the coast towards The Natural Bridge. The coast here is rugged, with limestone cliffs and a remote beach. It's important to stick to the paths due to the dangerous cliff.
Albany is also known for its wine region, wildflowers, and whale-watching. The Great Southern Wine Region offers cool climate varieties and wine tasting opportunities.
The best time to visit Albany is from September to November when the weather is mild and the wildflowers are in bloom. To get to Albany, visitors can take a direct flight from Perth or drive for about five hours. From Albany, it's a 40-minute drive to reach Denmark, another exciting place to explore.
