Description
Goolugatup Heathcote’s annual site-responsive commission TILT is back for its 16th year, with two artists invited to develop new works that reflect the history and heritage of the site.
Presented by the City of Melville, internationally renowned artists Abdul-Rahman Abdullah and Anna Louise Richardson will explore the many threads that bind birds and humans in their new body of work, SHELTER.
Opening from Saturday, 30 November 2024 until Sunday, 19 January 2025, SHELTER will invite the audience to immerse themselves in the communal life of two endemic Australasian bird species, the Silver Gull and Welcome Swallow.
Focusing on Goolugatup as a junction between land, sky, and water, the exhibition draws on the idea that this site acts as a refuge for particular native bird species, thriving in a shared environment.
TILT will be on display at Goolugatup Heathcote Gallery from the opening night at 5.00pm on Saturday, 30 November until Sunday, 19 January 2025.
