Description

Shoreham Beach is a 26.2-hectare Local Nature Reserve in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex.

Owned and managed by the Adur District Council, it is home to a rare vegetated shingle. This shingle supports various flora, including the yellow horned poppy, curled dock, and sea kale.

The boardwalk at Shoreham Beach provides an excellent way to explore the area. The first section was installed in 2011, connecting Ferry Road and Shingle Road. After a dispute, the 20-meter gap was filled in 2014, completing the first phase. The second phase was finished in 2015, extending the boardwalk to The Burrells and creating an intersection near Winterton Way. The third phase was completed in 2018, extending the footpath to Forthaven. Plans are underway for the fourth phase, which will extend the boardwalk from Ferry Road towards Beach Green.

Experience the breathtaking beauty of the vegetated shingle and enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk at Shoreham Beach.
