Description
A group of high school friends from down south love one thing more than any other: hanging out after school in the local forest at their favourite tree, which they call “Bruce”.
But when the local council comes sniffing around with a plan to knock down the forest and build a new high-rise hotel, the gang is thrown into disarray. Their one shot at saving the forest and Bruce: raise $50,000 to pay off the council. But how are they going to make the money? They have no ideas. That is, until their High school English teacher, Miss Maple, lets them know about a National Slam Poetry competition coming into town offering a $50,000 cash prize to the winner. A bunch of teens who barely passed ATAR English, entering a National Slam Poetry Contest…surely not…?
