Mystery Bay is the perfect place for both beginners and seasoned snorkellers, with plenty of stunning beaches and rock formations to explore. This hidden gem is located approximately 10 kilometres south of Narooma, making it easily accessible.
Mystery Bay is famous for its diverse array of marine life, including a variety of colourful fish, crabs, and other creatures you won't find anywhere else. There are also plenty of stunning rock formations to explore, with hidden caves and underwater tunnels to swim through. To add to the excitement, adventurous snorkellers can dive deep into the channels around Mystery Bay to discover even more aquatic surprises awaiting them.
The best time to go snorkelling in Mystery Bay is during the summer months of December to February, when water temperatures are at their warmest, averaging around 21 degrees Celsius.
Getting to Mystery Bay is easy. Simply follow the Princes Highway south from Narooma for approximately 10 kilometres, then turn left onto Mystery Bay Road. Head north through the primitive camp ground. You'll find a track that heads right, which will descend quite steeply as it gets to the pool. There's a wonderful diving area around the rocks, or try the huge, sheltered rock pool a little north of Mystery Bay Beach.
