Description
Speers Point Park in Lake Macquarie is a beautiful and picturesque green space that is a must-see for visitors.
There are plenty of shady spots to enjoy a picnic, as well as barbecues and tables for those who want to spend the whole day there.
Speers Point Park is one of the stops on the Creative Lake Sculpture Trail, which links artworks over five kilometers of the lake shore. The most notable piece of art in the park is the Chimera; a stunning public art installation towering at 12m and topped with a stainless-steel wind vane shaped like a stylized ship.
Variety Playground is another excellent reason to visit the Speers Point Park, which is regularly awarded as one of Australia's best playgrounds for kids. The playground is designed to accommodate children of all abilities featuring climbing walls, spider web nets, a 9m high slide, and water play areas. Kids can have a great time while burning their energy.
The Park also features shared pathways, a beautiful paved promenade for a relaxing walk, and a fenced dog exercise area for pet owners. With so much to see and do, this park is an excellent place for all age groups.
Whether you are looking for a beautiful wedding venue, a picnic spot, or a company picnic spot, individual areas or the whole park is available for hire. Bookings are not taken for Barbecue shelters. Hire is required when using jumping castles, animal farms, and amusement rides or when professional catering is supplied. Fees will be charged by council staff after receiving your booking.
This park can be visited any time of year, but it is always best on sunny days. The park can be accessed from The Esplanade
