The lodge is a 1936 former convent that has been lovingly restored while maintaining its original charm, with modern facilities. It is situated on 7 acres of gardens featuring a pond, a fountain, and a gazebo, with stunning lake and mountain views. Despite its quiet and secluded setting, it is only a 15-minute walk from Te Anau town centre.
The lodge has 9 bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. Each bedroom is fitted with radiator heating, night lights, warm duvets, and luggage racks. The beds are comfortable, with lots of sumptuous pillows. The bathrooms have heated towel rails, electric fan heaters, and guests will find hairdryers, toiletries, and large, soft towels in the rooms.
Te Anau Lodge offers a variety of different rooms to suit different tastes and budgets. All of the rooms are slightly different from each other and therefore priced differently. The tariffs range from NZ$275 for a single room, including breakfast at the lodge, to NZ$300 for a double room, including breakfast at the lodge.
