The property features two identical one-bedroom cottages, Tahi and Rua, set adjacent yet staggered for privacy from each other. Each cottage is generous in size at 48 square meters and has everything guests need for a comfortable and memorable stay. The cottages are nestled in the lowlands at the base of the towering Southern Alps of New Zealand, surrounded by giant native trees scattered across farmland with exceptional views up the Franz Josef Glacier valley.
The cottages offer a range of amenities, including free Wi-Fi, free private parking, a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen, and towels. A microwave, a toaster, and a fridge are also featured, as well as a kettle. The units include outdoor furniture, a drying rack for clothing, electric blankets, a private entrance, carpeted floors, a fan, and air conditioning.

The property offers a unique West Coast accommodation experience, with a glimpse of life on the West Coast. The owners, Isaac and Ginell, both born and bred in the South Westland region, are incredibly passionate about Glacier Country, the Franz Josef Glacier community, and the wider South Westland region. They built Te Awa Cottages in 2018 to share their little slice of paradise with travelers from all over the world
