Description
Telegherry River is a popular camping and day-use area located in the Chichester State Forest.
It offers a cool and lush green environment along the beautiful Telegherry River. The site includes the Telegherry Forest Park, which has separate picnic and camping areas. Visitors can enjoy short walking tracks in the surrounding forest and engage in river-based activities.
The Telegherry River provides a variety of activities for visitors, such as li-loing and relaxing in the cool waters. Frying Pan, located on one bank of the river, is a picturesque camping and picnic area. On the opposite bank, Coachwood Camping Area offers more camping spots and is popular with families and those interested in river-based activities. Visitors can also access Problem Creek Falls via a two-kilometer walking track starting at the Coachwood camping area.
For visitors with a 4WD, the Currawong camping area is accessible and offers easy access to the Telegherry River.
The best time to visit Telegherry River is during the months of April to October when temperatures are cooler and the climate is drier. During the warmer months, the area is popular for water-based activities.
