Come and join us to learn some photography skills, make some new friends and have a few laughs!
Following a need for a photography group in the northern corridor of Perth, The Aperture Group, fondly nicknamed TAG, was founded in July 2014 with just six members at Merriwa.
Word got out and members steadily grew to be the amazing club TAG is today, with original members Simone Porter and Lynn Gail still enjoying the benefits.
The club’s original vision was for community involvement, sharing of photographic knowledge and friendship, and wow has TAG ticked all those boxes!
As a group we have photographed many local places together, including Burns Beach at sunset, Mindarie Marina with fish and chips, lightning at Lake Joondalup, Sorrento Quay at night, and Parry’s Paddock with models. Smaller groups of friends made through TAG have organised their own photographic outings to many more places. Sharing knowledge between each other, exploring new places and having many laughs make TAG a great club to join.
?TAG has hosted many in-house workshops covering genres such as portraiture, macro, flash, slow shutter speed, photoshop and more. We’ve had the pleasure of having several well-known photographers judge competitions or present workshops for our members too such as Seng Mah, Steve Wise, Dale Neill, Sue McLeod, Bob Litchfield, Lynn Gail and Mark Greenland.
The Aperture Group has a great reputation for being a social and welcoming photography club.
Starting January 2022, The Aperture Group has a new meet-up venue. We now meet at Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club, 2 Quinns Road, Quinns Rocks.
