Description
The Bridle Track, also known as Root Hog Road Track Gowan, is a challenging adventure for experienced four-wheel drivers.
Starting from Bathurst and entering the Bridle Track via Root Hog Road, this track requires tire depressurising and a deep water crossing. It is not accessible by caravan, two-wheel drives, or off-road camper trailers.
Along the Bridle Track, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Australian countryside, including rolling hills, vast forests, and the Turon River. There are also several campsites accessible via this track, such as Johnsons Hole Reserve, Sammy's Hole Reserve, Randwick Hole Reserve, Mary Flynn Campground, Cave Hole Reserve, and Turon River Crossing Reserve.
The best time to visit the Bridle Track is during the Australian summer months from December to February. The weather is warm and dry, perfect for outdoor activities.
To get to the Bridle Track, start in Bathurst and enter the track via Root Hog Road. Bathurst is a city located in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, approximately 200 km west of Sydney.
