Description

The Kevin Hoffman Walk is a hidden gem of Australian native plants located on the eastern banks of Hovells Creek in Lara, Victoria.

Created by Kevin Hoffman over 40 years ago, this award-winning garden features over 1,000 different species of Australian native plants, including 150 indigenous species. With one kilometer of paths meandering through the gardens, visitors can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing experience surrounded by the beauty of nature.

The garden offers a variety of attractions for visitors. Sitting amongst the birds and colorful flowers, visitors can experience the tranquility of the garden. The garden was designed to have something in bloom at all times and showcases unique and threatened species. At the northern end of the garden, there is an extensive Western Victorian Volcanic Plains indigenous garden, along with collections of Banksias, Correas (Native Fuchsia), and Eremophilas (Emu Bushes). The garden's meticulously placed rocks, historical weathered posts, and Wathaurong Glass-inlaid bollards provide captivating features for photographers and stunning views of Hovells Creek.

The Kevin Hoffman Walk is open year-round, making it a great destination at any time of the year. Visitors can easily reach 'The Walk' by train or bus from Lara train station, which is located on the Geelong line and is easily accessible from Melbourne. Limited car parking is available in Walkers Road and Wingara Drive.
