Description
The Most Precious of Cargoes is a profoundly moving story of extraordinary acts of kindness, resilience and hope amidst the horrors of war.
Adapted from the celebrated novella of the same name, narrated by legendary French actor Jean-Louis Trintignant (Amour) and with a score by famed composer Alexandre Desplat (The King's Speech, Philomena), The Most Precious of Cargoes lyrically evokes a very dark moment in 20th century history. But it also signals hope and humanity, through its delicate yet expressive hand-drawn animated frames.
Synopsis
A woodcutter and his wife live a simple existence in a wintry Polish forest. World War II is raging but theirs is a small, insular world. That all drastically changes when, yearning for her own lost child, the wife discovers a seemingly abandoned baby. Regardless of local suspicions, and her own husband's initial prejudice, the wife is determined to save this child at all costs.
