Description
The Three Sisters Dive Site is located in the impressive Milln Reef, just a short boat trip away from Cairns.
The main attraction of this dive site is the three large, colourful bommies known as the Three Sisters.
The dive site is renowned for its Gorgonian Gorge, where the second and third sisters rise to within one metre of the surface. The gap between them is constantly filled with schools of fusiliers and snapper. Visitors can also expect to see immense schools of snapper, surgeonfish, sweetlips, barracuda, reef sharks, moray and garden eels, lagoon rays, and turtles.
There are swim-throughs, overhangs, and crevices to explore, making it an exciting and interesting place for both experienced and inexperienced divers. The pinnacles and deep dives offer a unique opportunity to swim around and enjoy the underwater environment.
The best time to visit the Three Sisters Dive Site is between August and December when the visibility is excellent, ranging from 20-30 meters. The water temperatures during this period are between 23-30 degrees Celsius.
