Description

Tooleybuc River Walk is a peaceful stroll along the Murray River, starting from Mensforth Park and ending at the Tooleybuc Sporting Club.

The walk offers stunning views of the Murray River from the heritage-listed Tooleybuc Bridge, the final timber truss bridge with a lift span constructed over the river. The Bridge Keepers Cottage, originally built in the 1930s, has been restored and provides insight into the history of the bridge. Adjacent to the cottage is the authentic Punt Gate with its own intriguing history.

Mensforth Park, the starting point of the river walk, offers a picnic area and playground for sightseeing. The path winds along the river's edge, providing excellent views of the Murray River, birdlife, and fresh air. As you approach Herbert Street, you can head to the Tooleybuc Sporting Club.

The Tooleybuc Sporting Club is a great destination to visit during your river walk. It is home to the enormous Mallee Root, the second-largest ever found, and offers a unique and exciting experience for all ages. The club also provides facilities such as a bowling green and sporting space, making it enjoyable for sports enthusiasts. Additionally, the club has a fantastic restaurant offering delightful meals and beverages, perfect for replenishing after a long walk.

The river walk is open to the public every day of the week, year-round, and offers serene views throughout each season. A sunny day is ideal for enjoying the marvelous views and fresh air while engaging in outdoor activities.

Tooleybuc River Walk is easily accessible from the town center and neighboring suburbs.
