Description
Trish Waters is a Dunsborough artist with a passion for the south west!
My artworks are a reflection of my environment and a meditation. I want to share the peace that I find in nature as well as in the act of creating, using saturated colour and organic shapes to create patterns and visual rhythm. The ocean is my solace and imbedded in my soul. I spend much of my free time walking by the sea, swimming and watching the play of light on water. During these tumultuous times, I find catharsis within the creation of my art which reflects the emotions I have experienced as I work. My work is diverse and has a vast range of artistic influences ranging from the Post Impressionists with bright, exaggerated colours reflecting narratives and moods through to the incredible Abrohlos inspired masterpieces of local artist Larry Mitchell. Georgia O’Keefe’s lyrical semi abstracted natural forms and the drawings of 16th century masters such as Durer and Da Vinci all inspire me as do the works of Indigenous and other contemporary Australians.
