Tunnel View Lookout in Blue Mountains National Park South is a popular destination known for its panoramic views, train tunnels, and birdwatching opportunities.
The lookout offers stunning vistas of Glenbrook and Kurrajong, located about 50km away. Visitors of all ages are drawn to this lookout in the Glenbrook region.
At the unfenced lookout, you can admire the historic train-line cutting and the two tunnels built in 1911. Beyond the tunnels, you'll be treated to the breathtaking sight of Mount Banks and Mount Tomah, with their basalt capped mountains. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including woody pears and flannel flowers in the warmer months. Birdwatching is a popular activity at Tunnel View Lookout.
The best time to visit Tunnel View Lookout is during the warmer months, from December to February, when you can fully appreciate the natural beauty of the area.
To reach the lookout, take the Great Western Highway to Glenbrook and turn onto Ross Street. Then, take a right turn onto Bruce Road and follow it for about 2.2 km until you reach the park entrance. From there, it's a 4.2 km drive along Mount Hay Road to Tunnel View Lookout. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the picturesque views!
