Two Peoples Bay

The purpose of Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve is to maintain the natural environment and protect native flora and fauna, while providing sustainable visitor facilities within the bays recreational area.

The Two Peoples Bay Visitor Centre has lots of information about local history, wildlife and important recovery programs for threatened species. Over summer months, the centre is usually open from 10am to 4pm. During other months the centre is only open when staff are present but the colourful displays can still be viewed from outside.

Visitors can enjoy a range of activities in the reserve from canoeing and kayaking, diving, snorkelling and fishing.

One of the best ways to enjoy the scenic beauty and wildlife of Two Peoples Bay is to walk along the Heritage Trail. Alternatively you can drive from the visitor centre to Little Beach. Those with four-wheel drive vehicles can also set out on Sinker Reef Track to Sinker Reef Beach to enjoy magnificent coastal views.

There is a picnic area and gas barbecues nearby. There is no drinking water available in the reserve and there is no campground.

The walk starts at the rear of the visitor centre and winds through peppermint woodland then loops back along the beach. Stand or sit quietly on the trail and you may hear the territorial song of a male noisy scrub-bird, especially during their mating season (May to September). Lookouts on the trail provide views across the sheltered bay.

A 5km return spur from this loop leads to picturesque Little Beach.
