Studio open by appointment - lover of skulls, flowers and ROCK n ROLL!!
I've been painting and drawing since I was a teenager. I'm hugely influenced by Mexican folk art and the Day of the Dead. A celebration that honours their ancestors with beautiful altars of their favourite foods, flowers and tequila. The bright colours teamed with dancing skeletons and the portrayal of a happy afterlife I find very fascinating. The juxtaposition between a usually scary skull and the bright cartoon-like colours. Another inspiration is psychedelia. Art from the 1960s and '70s. Psychedelic meaning "mind-manifesting". I like to think of my creations as an idea sprouted from my consciousness and then given form through painting. Flowers in their many forms and colours are also another huge inspiration. I try to fill my garden full of many different types of blooms to have a daily reminder of their beauty.
