Victoria Park Moonta is a historic and natural oasis located on Milne Terrace in the heart of town.
Established in the 1830s as a land care plantation, this beautiful bush park is now being preserved with many of the original tracks being maintained by the current walkers of the park.
Victoria Park Moonta is not only a natural attraction, but it is also steeped in history. Originally established to protect the town from drift sand, it has transformed into one of the most beautiful bush parks in the region. The park features a mix of established and self-sown plants, with many of them being more than 130 years old. It is especially beautiful in spring with its many flowers and abundant bird life, and visitors can take a leisurely stroll around the park to enjoy the scenery.
The park is well-suited for picnics with friends and family, with many areas around the park catering to this purpose. There are plenty of spots to spread a picnic blanket and enjoy the beautiful landscape while having a bite to eat. Additionally, the Friends of Victoria Park hold regular walks on the third Sunday of every month. Visitors can join these walks, which typically start at 9.30 am or 10 am, by calling in advance to confirm the time.
