Weaver Estate Wines is a family-owned and operated winery located in the valley basin of Alexandra in the Central Otago region on the South Island of New Zealand.
The Weavers have a long history in this region, dating back to the 1860s when the first Weavers gained a foothold in Alexandra as a result of the gold rush. Today, Jess Weaver, a sixth-generation member of the family, holds a bachelor's degree in viticulture and oenology from Lincoln University, New Zealand, and is focused on producing hand-picked wines of the highest international quality.

Weaver Estate Wines offers winery tours and vineyard talks with the winemaker, which can be arranged by prior arrangement. On-Site Guest Accommodation
The winery also provides guest accommodation on-site in two self-contained guest cottages. These cottages are brand new and set in the middle of the vineyard, offering incredible views and a great place to relax and enjoy your stay in Central Otago. Each cottage is equipped with modern amenities and can accommodate up to four people. There is also a BBQ area and a private courtyard where guests can unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

It is easily accessible by road and is located in a picturesque setting that is ideal for a day trip. The winery is open from 11 am to 5 pm on Wednesdays to Sundays, and visitors are welcome to come and taste some great wines and enjoy the lovely vineyard. With its warm and inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, Weaver Estate Wines is a must-visit destination if in the Clyde/Alexandra area.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Weaver Estate Wines is during the summer months (December to February), when the weather is warm and sunny, and the vineyards are lush and green. However, the winery is open year-round, and each season has something unique to offer. During the autumn months (March to May), visitors can witness the harvest and experience the excitement of the winemaking process. In winter (June to August), the vineyards are dormant, but the snow-capped mountains provide a stunning backdrop for the winery. In spring (September to November), the vineyards come to life once again, and visitors can see the new growth and budding vines.
Getting There
Weaver Estate Wines is located on State Highway 8, halfway between Alexandra and Clyde, in the Alexandra Basin of Central Otago. The winery is easily accessible by car, and there is ample parking on-site. It is approximately a 1-hour drive from Queenstown Airport and a 2-hour drive from Dunedin Airport. Visitors can also take a scenic drive from Wanaka or Te Anau to reach the winery.
