Description

Whispering Falls is a hidden gem located in the Mount Richmond Forest Park, approximately 11km up the Aniseed Valley Road in Hope, New Zealand.

The falls are one of Nelson Tasman's most charming waterfalls, and the track leading to it is a unique place to visit.

The track to Whispering Falls is a 4.5 km return walk that takes around 2 hours to complete. The track is well-maintained and follows the banks of the Hackett River, with the sound of the river providing a soothing background to the walk. The track crosses a wooden bridge over the Roding River and, after 1 km, a suspension bridge across Hacket Creek. Be prepared for river crossings along the way, and it is recommended to wear sturdy footwear.

The walk takes you to a small (10m) plunge-style waterfall, which is a beautiful sight to behold. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery, and the sound of the water cascading down the rocks is truly mesmerizing. The car park for the track is located at the end of Aniseed Valley Road, and there are no facilities available along the track. It is recommended to bring your own food and water.

Overall, Whispering Falls is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and hikers. The track is easy to follow, and the falls are a beautiful reward at the end of the walk. The peaceful surroundings and the sound of the water make it a perfect spot for a picnic or a quiet moment of reflection.
