Description

Wollomombi Falls is a stunning plunge waterfall located in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia. Situated in the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park, the falls are approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) east of Armidale. They can be reached by taking a 1.45-kilometer (0.90 mi) diversion off the Waterfall Way.

Adjacent to Wollomombi Falls are the Chandler Falls, found on the Chandler River.

With a height of 907 meters (2,976 ft) above sea level (AHD) and a single drop of 100 meters (330 ft), Wollomombi Falls are a magnificent sight. The total descent of the falls varies between 150–230 meters (490–750 ft), depending on the river's flow. While they were once considered the tallest falls in Australia, recent studies place them as the second or third tallest, after Tin Mine Falls in the Snowy Mountains and Wallaman Falls in Queensland.

Visitors to Wollomombi Falls can enjoy a range of outdoor activities, including hiking and camping. The area offers several walking tracks that provide breathtaking views of the falls, such as the Chandler Walking Track, which takes about an hour to complete. The trails cater to different fitness levels, ranging from easy to difficult. Camping facilities are available nearby, with amenities such as toilets, picnic areas, and barbeque facilities, making it an ideal spot for family picnics and gatherings.
