Wooroonooran National Park

Wooroonooran National Park, located in Queensland, Australia, is a part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

It covers the Bellenden Ker Range and includes Mt. Bartle Frere and Mt. Bellenden Ker, the highest mountains in Queensland. The park also features Walsh's Pyramid, one of the world's highest free-standing natural pyramids. Known for its heavy rainfall, Wooroonooran National Park is a stunning natural wonder.

Within the park, visitors can explore the waterfalls of the Josephine section, Palmerston section, and Goldsborough Valley. Josephine Falls, originating from Mt. Bartle Frere, offers a rainforest walking track that leads to observation platforms. Nandroya Falls in Henrietta Creek and Tchupala Falls and Wallicher Falls along the Palmerston Highway are also worth visiting. Whites Falls on Behana Creek and Kearneys Falls in the Goldsborough Valley section are additional attractions.

The park is home to over 500 tree species, including the country's only native rhododendron. It is also an important bird area, supporting endemic bird species found in Queensland's Wet Tropics.

The Mamu Rainforest Tropical Skywalk, completed between 2007 and 2008, is a popular attraction in the park. It offers visitors a unique aerial view of the rainforest and is located on Palmerston Highway.

Facilities in the park include an overnight campground at Henrietta Creek, with additional bush camping options along the Mt. Bartle Frere Trail. Permits are required for bush camping.
