WWII Oil Storage Tunnels Tour

Delve into the history of World War II at the Darwin Waterfront Precinct’s Oil Storage Tunnels.

Secret until 1992, these tunnels have been upgraded to include easy, self-guided tours. Come and explore the Digger Man, constructed from WWII items and artefacts. In 2021-22, the tunnels will be celebrating their 80th anniversary and 30 years of business with the promotion “See The Light”, commemorative coins, sash bags, and other memorabilia available for purchase. The tunnels are open October-May from 9am-1pm and June-September from 9am-4pm, closed December 7-27 and New Years Day. Private and school groups are welcome and guided podcasts are available.
