Yarrie Lake is a stunning natural wonder located just a few kilometres west of the scientific wonder of Australia Telescope.
It is a three-kilometre saucer-shaped expanse of water on the very edge of the Pilliga Forest, and it is thought to have been formed by a falling meteor many thousands of years ago.
Yarrie Lake is a veritable mecca for over 70 bird species, making it an excellent natural bird breeding ground. The camping grounds have powered sites, hot showers, toilets and laundry facilities, adding to the appeal of the entire camping experience. The road is sealed from Narrabri up to one kilometre from the amenities block. Camping near the lake provides visitors with an opportunity to get up close and personal with nature, making it a perfect retreat for anyone who loves spending time outdoors.
