Yengo National Park is located at a distance of 85 kilometres (53 mi) northwest of the Sydney central business district. The park is bounded by various settlements and natural landmarks, including Bucketty, Broke, Wollombi Brook, Putty Road, Mellong Range, Parr State Conservation Area, St Albans, Webbs Creek, Hawkesbury River, and Dharug National Park.
The park holds great historical significance as part of the Great Dividing Range, which was important to the Aboriginal people of the area. It features ancient Aboriginal rock engravings and rock art sites, such as the Painted Cave and the Finchley Cultural Walk.
Yengo National Park is home to over 50 species of mammals, including wombats, wallaroos, koalas, and gliding possums. It also offers a haven for birdwatchers, with over 200 species of birds to spot.
