Yili-njili Cycle and Walkway

Yili-Njili Cycle and Walkway Tathra is a 3.2 kilometre pathway designed for cyclists and walkers from Tathra to Kalaru.

The pathway starts on Bega Street, near the Tathra Fire Station, and runs adjacent to Tathra Road until reaching Kalaru, opposite Evans Park. Yili-Njili literally means 'way' in Djiringanj language, and the pathway is rich in history and significance for the Djiringanj people - the Aboriginal community that has inhabited the area for thousands of years. Along the pathway, you will find interpretive signage that tells stories of the region. You'll get to learn about the rich history of Yili-Njili, and its significance to the farming communities that settled in the region in the mid-1800s. Keep a look out for wildlife as you travel along the pathway. You'll get to see a range of bird species, like parrots, kingfishers, and finches, and possibly even spot a kangaroo or wallaby. The forest is dotted with various plant species, creating a serene and relaxing environment. Yili-Njili Cycle and Walkway Tathra is a year-round attraction, and you can visit at any time of the year. The best time to visit the pathway is during autumn to spring when the climate is mild and ideal for cycling or walking. The pathway is easily accessible by car or bike from Tathra or Kalaru.
