Description
The Yuelarbah Walking Track is a scenic trail located in the Glenrock State Conservation Area in New South Wales, Australia.
The walking trail is part of the Great North Walk, a long-distance walk stretching 250 kilometers from Newcastle to Sydney. The Yuelarbah Walking Trail is an excellent way to explore the natural beauty of the area.
The walking track starts at the wheelchair accessible raised boardwalk and meanders through Flaggy Creek, wet gullies, and coastal rainforest, offering breathtaking views of the natural flora and fauna of the area. The trail's highlight is the two waterfalls that hikers encounter along the way. The first one, known as the Flaggy Creek Waterfall, is just a 10-minute walk from the trailhead. The other waterfall, known as the Yuelarbah Waterfall, is located half an hour from the trailhead.
Located about halfway along the trail, hikers will find Leichhardt's Lookout, which provides excellent views over Glenrock Lagoon. The lookout is a great stop for those looking for a rest and a chance to capture some stunning photos.
The best time to visit the trail is during spring and autumn when the weather is mild, and the landscape is green and lush.
Aside from hiking, there are many other activities to enjoy at Yuelarbah Walking Track. Many hikers prefer to take a picnic lunch with them as there are several excellent spots to stop for a break along the walking track, including the picnic area at Flaggy Creek and the beach or headlands of Glenrock Beach.
