The Coorong region in South Australia boasts a vibrant arts scene, with several art galleries showcasing both local and international works. Two standout galleries in the area are the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery and the Coorong Gallery. The Murray Bridge Regional Gallery, located just 45 minutes from Adelaide near the Murray River, is acclaimed as one of the premier regional galleries in South Australia. It offers contemporary art exhibitions, public art, and a shop featuring handmade and bespoke products. The gallery hosts a diverse range of projects, from seasoned to experimental art forms, by leading and emergent artists, as well as local recreational makers and young people. Its shop features items such as paintings, sculptures, prints, Ngarrindjeri weaving, glassware, ceramics, jewelry, and greeting cards.
The gallery comprises two separate exhibition spaces and showcases six curated exhibitions per calendar year. It is a Council-supported initiative that provides the opportunity to engage with local history and ideas. Both galleries offer unique experiences for art enthusiasts and travelers alike, showcasing the rich cultural landscape of the Coorong region.
