The Gladstone Region in Queensland boasts several glass art galleries showcasing a variety of art styles and mediums, with notable venues being Creative Gladstone Region Inc and the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum. Creative Gladstone Region Inc, also known as ARTmatters, is a non-profit art collective founded in 2011, offering a range of activities, including glass art workshops, to support the local creative community for adults, teens, and children with talented tutors in various creative fields.
Established in 1985, the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum (GRAGM) is dedicated to promoting art, culture, and heritage for the communities of the Gladstone Region and Central Queensland. Housed in the Heritage Listed old Gladstone Town Hall, GRAGM offers a dynamic cultural experience through four exhibition spaces showcasing rotating exhibitions of art and history, with new displays introduced every 6 to 8 weeks, blending art, history, and heritage to engage and educate visitors about the region's rich cultural tapestry.
Apart from these galleries, the Gladstone Region features public art installations like Artist Windows and the Art in Parks initiative, where local artists collaborate to showcase glass art and other mediums in public spaces throughout the region. These installations not only enhance the aesthetics of publicly accessed spaces but also provide visitors with the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the local artistic talent on display.
