Circular Head, Tasmania, is home to the Table Cape Lighthouse, a heritage-listed attraction that offers a glimpse into the region's maritime history. After the wrecks of the Emma Prescott in 1867 and the schooner Orson in 1884, a lighthouse was commissioned to aid navigation into the port. Table Cape Lighthouse was designed by Huckson and Hutchinson of Hobart and has been open for public tours since 2010. The lighthouse features a 16-meter (51 ft) tapered round brick tower with a lantern and gallery, painted white with vertical red stripes on the seaward side of the tower.
Visitors to Circular Head can explore the lighthouse and its surroundings, taking in the stunning views and learning about the region's rich maritime history. The area also offers opportunities for hiking, wildlife spotting, and enjoying the rugged coastal scenery.
