Fraser Coast Regional lighthouses

The Fraser Coast Region in Queensland, Australia, is home to a few notable lighthouses that hold significant historical and cultural value. Two of the most prominent lighthouses in the region are: Sandy Cape Light, located on Sandy Cape, the most northern point on K'gari (Fraser Island) in Queensland, this heritage-listed active lighthouse is an important part of the area's maritime history. Constructed from 1866 to 1870, they were designed to aid maritime navigation and reflect the growth and development of Queensland after its separation from New South Wales. The lighthouses and the lightkeeper's residence at North Bluff were added to the Queensland Heritage Register on March 30, 2001.
