Moorabool motor racing tracks

The Moorabool Region in Victoria is on track to establish itself as a premier motoring hub with the introduction of new race tracks. Spearheaded by the Moorabool Shire Council, in collaboration with the City of Ballarat and the City of Greater Geelong, several projects are in the pipeline.

One of the anticipated race tracks is the Avalon Race Track situated in Avalon, VIC. Spanning 5km, the track is versatile, accommodating diverse motorsport activities like motocross, karting, and drag racing. The State Government has allocated $80 million for the establishment of the Crash and Trauma Education Centre at the site.

Additionally, the Cardinia Motor Recreation and Education Complex is in the works, featuring a 5.3km FIA Grade 2, FIM Grade A race track suitable for drag racing, karting, driver training, and 4x4 activities. Championed by the Australian Racing Drivers Club (CAMS), this project was initially proposed in 2009.

Moreover, the Geelong Motorplex is an ambitious initiative in the region aiming to create a world-class motorsport facility with a 5km race track that can be segmented into smaller sections. Avalon 2020 is at the helm of driving this project forward. These upcoming race tracks are poised to draw motorsport enthusiasts, professionals, and spectators while also serving as destination venues and bolstering the development of the motorsport industry in Australia.
