The Rockhampton region in Queensland is a haven for mountain biking enthusiasts, offering a variety of trails catering to different skill levels and preferences. The Rockhampton Mountain Bike Club (Rocky MTB) manages two main networks of trails, providing an excellent experience for riders. The First Turkey Mountain Bike Reserve, located in the foothills of Mount Archer National Park, is the premier trail network in the area. Just a 15-minute drive from the Rockhampton City CBD, the reserve offers a fantastic array of Gravity Enduro and Cross Country trails through diverse terrain.
Another popular trail network is Seeonee Park at Limestone Creek, a 10-minute drive east towards Yeppoon. The park hosts numerous cross-country trails catering to all abilities and skill levels, and is the venue for several cross-country races throughout the year. The newest addition to the region's mountain bike trails is the Mount Morgan Mountain Bike Trails. Although not managed by Rocky MTB, the club occasionally holds social rides at this location, which is operated by the Rockhampton Regional Council.
The Rockhampton region's mountain bike trails are open all year round, with June to August offering peak rides, perfect for those looking to escape the winter down south. With its diverse range of trails and beautiful natural surroundings, the Rockhampton region is an ideal destination for mountain bikers seeking an unforgettable adventure in Queensland.
