The Barcoo Region in Queensland boasts several museums showcasing its rich history, unique landscapes, and diverse flora and fauna. The Outer Barcoo Interpretation Centre in Isisford stands out as one of the region's most notable museums, presenting the evolution of nature from 100 million years ago to the present day, including a life-sized replica model of Isisfordia Duncani, the ancestor of all crocodilians.
At the Outer Barcoo Interpretation Centre, visitors can explore displays featuring local fauna, flora, reptiles, and birds, and learn about the formation of the Great Artesian Basin and the general history of the Isisford area. The museum also offers an audio-visual presentation depicting life in the area since settlement, along with a 60-seat theatrette, cafeteria, and local arts and craft displays.
