The Gladstone Region in Queensland is home to the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum (GRAGM), a dynamic cultural destination that blends art, history, and heritage. Housed in the Heritage Listed old Gladstone Town Hall, the facility features a purpose-built extension connected to the historic building by a glass bridge. The GRAGM serves as a custodian for the preservation of the region's history and culture, featuring four exhibition spaces: the Town Hall Gallery, Front Gallery, Museum Room, and O'Connell Space. These spaces showcase rotating exhibitions of art and history, with new displays introduced every 6 to 8 weeks. The building's design includes a dramatic aluminum and stainless steel installation on the façade created by local artist Margaret Worthington, inspired by the harbor and shipping charts of Port Curtis.
The Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum is a social history museum that houses an extensive Heritage Collection, including articles and photographs of cultural significance to the Gladstone Region. The facility also offers a versatile workshop studio space with lift access, providing an area for creative activities and events. Visitors can explore the exhibition spaces on the ground level and learn about current displays, upcoming exhibitions, and attend workshops.
