Loxton Waikerie scenic lookouts

The Waikerie Rotary Cliff Top Walk, spanning 2 km, is a must-visit attraction in the area, offering breathtaking views of the River Murray. The walk commences near the Waikerie Ferry, leading through the pumping station grounds to the lookout, tracing the scenic clifftop and providing stunning vistas of the river and floodplain.

Throughout the trail, visitors encounter diverse natural elements like terraces, wetlands, billabongs, and backwaters, each housing unique flora and fauna. This diversity attracts nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers, who can observe various bird species such as peaceful doves, Singing honeyeaters, White-winged trillers, and Musk lorikeets.

Access to the walkway is available from the vicinity of the Waikerie Ferry or behind the Rainmoth Gallery & Pioneer Park off Crush. It is advisable to carry sufficient water and sunscreen due to the sun's intensity, with some trail segments being steep. The optimal time for a visit is during the cooler months from April to October, providing pleasant weather conditions suitable for hiking.
