Berri Bamera railway museums

The region of Berri and Barmera in South Australia does not have specific railway museums, but it offers interesting historical attractions related to rail transportation. In Barmera, visitors can explore the Loveday Internment Collection at the Barmera Visitor Centre. This collection narrates the history of the Loveday Internment Camp, the largest group of internment camps in Australia during World War II, accommodating nearly 5,500 prisoners at its peak. Camp 14 of the Loveday Camps later served as a transit camp for prisoners of war (POWs) returning home.

For those interested in railway history, South Australia offers additional attractions such as the National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide, the SteamRanger preservation group in the Adelaide Hills, and the Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society located in Quorn.
