The Adelaide Hills in South Australia are home to a variety of sculpture galleries and artistic attractions that showcase a range of local and international talent. Some of the notable sculpture galleries in the area include Fabrik, Lucent Art House, Aptos Cruz, Top of the Torrens Gallery, The Coach House Studio, Atelier, and Bamfurlong Fine Crafts.
In addition to these galleries, the Adelaide Hills also hosts the Heysen Sculpture Biennial, a biennial 9-day sculpture symposium led by master sculptor Silvio Apponyi at The Cedars. The Hills Sculpture Trail is another attraction featuring 26 contemporary stone sculptures made by sculptors who participated in the 2014 and 2016 events.
The Art Gallery of South Australia, located in Adelaide, is the most significant visual arts museum in the state and boasts a collection of almost 45,000 works of art. Although not specifically focused on sculpture, the gallery does have a large collection of South Australian art, which includes 2,000 drawings by Hans Heysen. For a unique artistic experience, visit the Crystal Lake Sculpture Park in Macclesfield, a perfect year-round picnic spot and artist's retreat.
