Kingborough swimming holes

The Kingborough region in Tasmania boasts a variety of beautiful swimming spots, with Kingston Beach being one of the most popular destinations. This stunning stretch of curved white sand is flanked by tree-lined cliffs and is known for its safe swimming conditions, patrolled by the Kingston Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

Residents of the Hobart area enjoy easy access to safe, sandy beaches within 20 minutes of the CBD. The Derwent Estuary Program conducts a weekly water quality monitoring program called Beach Watch, testing water quality at 18 swimming sites around the Derwent estuary to ensure visitors can safely enjoy swimming and other water-based activities.

Nearby Blackmans Bay, Tinderbox, and Howden offer excellent views of the Derwent Estuary and the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. The Tinderbox Peninsula, a forested area with eucalypts stretching approximately 5.5 km, provides picturesque scenery and opportunities for exploration.
